St. Christopher’s CofE Primary - Cowley, Oxfordshire

Significant success with general ethos, social skills, emotional literacy and with the Celebrating Difference and Relationships Puzzles

Significant Success

St. Christophers CE Primary 1

We recently received a ‘Good’ Rating across all areas in our Ofsted Inspection. This has been a significant turnaround for us, in which Jigsaw PSHE (and Discovery RE) played an important part.

Impact of Jigsaw

Jigsaw PSHE has improved relationships in the school. Children take care of each other and understand that everyone is unique and special. They take great pride in resolving their own conflicts and are keep to support and understand their classmates. It has also helped them to think about and further develop emotional resilience.

  • Pupils’ welfare and safety have the highest priority. Pupils are happy, safe and well looked after because of the positive relationships they have with each other and with adults in school.
  • Pupils from all backgrounds thrive in this inclusive school
  • Pupils mix very well with those of different cultures and religions both in class and at playtimes. They are highly accepting and respectful of people’s differences. As one pupil said, ‘Being different can be even better; all that matters is that you are loved.’

Ofsted Report, January 2017.

Looking forward

We know that Jigsaw PSHE helps us keep the emotional wellbeing of our pupils and staff at the forefront of everything we do. We know that our pupils make better progress when they feel secure and nurtured. With Jigsaw PSHE’s help, we are looking forward to the future and to the continued success that it will bring as we strive to raise standards for the children in our care.
